Nikola Meeuwsen and Enrico Pace in Wassenaar

Nikola Meeuwsen is a concert pianist, who was born in 2002 in The Hague. One of his teachers was Enrico Pace affiliated with the Accademia Internazionale di Imola. In 2014 he won the Royal  Concertgebouw Competition in Amsterdam, followed in 2019 by the Royal Concertgebouw Young Talent Award. In 2022, Meeuwsen received the Grachtenfestival Prize. On May  31, 2025,  Meeuwsen won the final of the Queen Elisabeth Competition for Piano in Brussels, becoming the first Dutch participant ever to do so. In the final he performed Prokofiev’ Second Piano Concerto.

Enrico Pace was born in 1967 in Rimini and studied piano with Franco Scale. In addition, he pursued orchestral conducting and composition. In 1987, he won the first prize in Stresa at the International Yamaha Competition, and in 1989, he won the Second International Franz Liszt Piano Competition. Since then, Enrico Pace has performed in many major cities around the world. He is known as a leading Liszt interpreter.

On June 5, 2026, Nikola Meeuwsen and his mentor Enrico Pace will perform together. On two Bösendorfer grand pianos, they will perform Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, in D minor, Opus 125, transcribed by Liszt. The collaboration between these two greats is described as a meeting between master and talent, with an “intense, virtuosic, and deeply moving” result. Tickets: Boekhandel De Kler/Eventbrite
