The International Film Festival The Hague (IFFH) is proud to announce the 6th edition of its celebrated event, scheduled to take place from 8 to 10 November 2024 at the historic Het Koorenhuis. This year, the festival once again positions itself as a global platform for cinematic storytelling, presenting a variety of carefully curated thought-provoking independent films received from over 70 countries.
The 2024 edition of the festival, themed “Lenses on Life”, will showcase 38 world-class films across 8 blocks. These films were carefully selected from around 550 submissions and aim to highlight pressing contemporary issues that resonate with both local Dutch audiences and viewers worldwide. In addition to film screenings, the festival will also host several knowledge-sharing workshops.
We are honored to announce that Leonie Gerritsen, a Council Member from The Hague, will be the Guest of Honor at the festival’s kickoff ceremonies on the 8th of November. Her presence underscores the city’s commitment to supporting the arts and fostering international cultural exchanges.
Filmmakers from various parts of the world regularly participate in IFFH, underscoring the event’s global reach and popularity. This year, filmmakers from the Far East, including Japan and Indonesia, will also be joining in person, offering their perspectives through Q&A sessions and interactive workshops.
The festival will culminate in a glittering awards ceremony, recognizing and appreciating all the filmmakers who contributed to this year’s edition. The event promises to be a celebration of cinema, creativity, and cross-cultural exchange.
