From July 31 to August 9, 2025, the seaside town of Katwijk will once again come alive with the vibrant energy of the North Sea Summer Festival. Among the many highlights of the ten-day celebration is a special cultural event hosted by the historical society Genootschap Oud Katwijk.
On Tuesday, August 5, the Katwijk Traditional Costume Group (Katwijkse Klederdrachtgroep) will participate in the National Traditional Costume Show, joining around 15 other groups from across the country. Beginning at 11:00 a.m., the group will parade along the beach, through the dunes, and into the town’s shopping area—offering spectators a unique glimpse into Dutch heritage.
At 12:30 p.m., the group will present the iconic Katwijk fisherman’s costume and formal town attire at the Event Square, located next to the festival tent on the Boulevard. Visitors can expect a lively and nostalgic atmosphere, with live music and demonstrations of historic crafts.

Nationale Klederdracht Kostuumshow
Van 31 juli tot en met 9 augustus 2025 is het weer zo ver, Katwijk staat op zijn kop tijdens het Noordzee Zomerfestival. En natuurlijk doet het Genootschap ‘Oud Katwijk’ ook mee. Op dinsdag 5 augustus is de Katwijkse Klederdrachtgroep te zien, samen met nog zo’n 15 andere gezelschappen, tijdens de Nationale Klederdracht Kostuumshow.
Vanaf 11 uur flaneert de Klederdrachtgroep over het strand, door het duin en door het winkelcentrum. Vanaf half een presenteert de groep de Katwijkse vissersdracht en burgerdracht op het Evenementenplein, bij de festivaltent, aan de Boulevard. Het wordt daar een mooi sfeertje, met demonstraties van oude ambachten en een muziekpodium.
