Wassenaar – TUESDAY, 13 February 2018 at 20.00 hrs. By a series of very well-made marriages, Bess of Hardwick (1527-1608) rose to the highest levels of English nobility. She became the Countess of Shrewsbury and enormously wealthy. Her descendants live at Chatsworth today.
