“Leipzig- Architecture, Art and Music; J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn and the Gewandhaus”

28 februari 201833 second read

Wassenaar – By Denis Moriarty. The famous Gwandhaus, the concert hall in Leipzig, is noted for its fine acoustics, where often pieces by Bach can be heard. He and Mendelssohn, who founded the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, lived and worked there. Leipzig’s 16th century renaissance style buildings, baroque period trading houses and residences of wealthy merchants, along with Art Nouveau houses can be discovered during this musical voyage.
